Romantic Renaissance Vibes at the National Cathedral
The Washington National Cathedral is one of the most beautiful places in DC, in my opinion. It feels like you’re stepping back in time, into a different land where fairytales take place. For engagement photos, it’s the perfect DC location.
When you first arrive at the Washington National Cathedral, you’re met with a towering structure that’s simply otherworldly. The gothic architecture is impressive, intriguing, and romantic all at once. There are so many little alcoves to explore, details to notice, and sights to take in as you explore the exteriors.
Next to the Cathedral, you’ll find Bishop’s Garden, tucked away to reveal gorgeous manicured gardens and grounds. I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing every season at Bishop’s Garden, and each has something unique to offer. Spring features gorgeous blooms, including a few Cherry Blossoms that make a great substitute for the chaotic Tidal Basin blooms. Summer is when the garden is greenest, with lush plants and warm weather for a picnic. The fall season brings all the dark academia vibes – a book lovers dream! In the winter, snowfall makes this area absolutely magical, like something out of Harry Potter.
