Your engagement session is a great opportunity to bring out your personalities and incorporate some of your favorite shared passions. Take this engagement session in a movie theater, for example. A movie theater is the perfect location for engagement photos if you both are film buffs, actors or directors, or simply love going to the movies together. You can recreate a favorite date night of yours by dressing up and sharing popcorn and soda together, or you can pretend you two are at the premiere of your own movie.
The theater sets a stunning, intimate atmosphere for cinematic engagement photographs. We used direct flash to capture both editorial and candid posing. I love offering a combination of both styles so that the photos feel natural, exciting, and memorable. It’s a priority of mine to foster a comfortable, safe space to express love and emotions, so this empty movie theater offered a great environment for this couple to relax, get creative, and most importantly, be themselves.
These two decided to have their engagement photos taken right in their neighborhood at a cute vintage movie theater called Miracle Theater in Capitol Hill, a place both meaningful and familiar to them. During their photoshoot, we chatted about their favorite movies, some film hot takes, and their plans for their Italy destination wedding as we snapped flash photos in the theater.
