Old Hollywood NOLA Wedding

Old Hollywood inspired wedding in New Orleans, LA

When I first heard Whitney describe her upcoming New Orleans wedding’s vibes to include “moody jewel tone colors, stars and moons, candle light, jazz band, etc,” I thought it was too good to be true. How could this 2026 bride’s style align so well with my own? So, I hopped on a call with her as fast as I could, and we immediately hit it off. The next thing I knew, I was booking tickets to New Orleans for my first wedding of 2026!

I knew that my first time in this moody, jazzy city would be unforgettable. On top of having the best food and finding the coolest witchy treasures this city had to offer, I got to be a part of a truly wonderful wedding day. Whitney and Nathaniel are a couple with great taste (that much is certain), so every aspect of the wedding was designed with intention and care. From tons of romantic candles to a vintage moon backdrop designed by the bride’s talented mother, each element of this wedding held such charm and spirit, transporting guests to the 1930’s Golden Age of Hollywood. The entire experience was positively bewitching.

The day started with getting ready photos at the Old No. 77 Hotel just down the street from the venue, where Whitney and Nathaniel met with heartfelt tears during their first look in the lobby. We then headed outside for some group photos and family portraits on the streets of the Warehouse District, before making our way to The Gallery by Pigeon Catering, where the ceremony and reception would take place.

The ceremony was bathed in moody and romantic candlelight and decorated with stars glittering among the ceiling. I had the pleasure of experiencing a traditional second line, a staple at New Orleans weddings, where a jazz band led the procession of wedding guests around the surrounding blocks of the neighborhood, singing and dancing as we celebrated our newlyweds! I have to give credit to all of the New Orleans wedding photographers out there – photographing a second line is no joke! Running back and forth, walking backwards for most of the time… I felt like this was my wedding photography Olympics. I had so much fun capturing the excitement, and I felt so much gratitude in the moments afterward.

The rest of the evening went by like a dream. With drinks pouring and the tunes of the live band filling the room, guests reveled in the enchantments of a magical wedding reception. The late-night beignets were an added delight!
